Get ready for a thrilling ride as Indian Motorcycle gears up to celebrate its 125th anniversary! And what better way to mark this momentous occasion than with a special edition Scout Bobber? But here's where it gets intriguing...
Motorcycle.com has exclusive insights into this upcoming model, and we're excited to share the details with you.
The proof lies in the homologation filings from Australia, which reveal a Scout Bobber 125th Anniversary model with the internal code SBD77. While the filings don't give away the technical specs, we can decipher some exciting clues from Indian's model code structure.
The model code, a five-character sequence, provides a unique insight into the bike's specifications. It tells us about the model line, body style, trim level, engine displacement, and power output. So, when we see 'SBD' at the beginning of the code, we know it's closely related to the Limited +Tech trim.
The regular Scout Bobber, with the code SBD76, is powered by Indian's 1,250cc SpeedPlus engine, tuned to deliver a claimed 105 hp at 7,250 rpm. But the 125th Anniversary model, with its '77' code, hints at a different tune - one that matches the 101 Scout's engine, producing a mighty 111 hp at the same rpm.
As for the visual appeal, the filings remain silent. However, we can expect a classic Indian red paint job, with subtle nods to the brand's rich history.
Indian has officially unveiled the Sport Scout RT for 2026, but we believe the anniversary celebrations will offer more than just one model. With the transition of ownership from Polaris Industries to private equity firm Carolwood LP expected to finalize this quarter, we anticipate the announcement of the Scout Bobber 125th Anniversary to coincide with this new chapter.
